Escorts in Kensington, W8: who is close, and how soon
Kensington has hotels, and good ones, but it is the one zone on this board where the majority of bookings are at a residential address. W8 is mansion blocks, garden squares and tall white terraces with a porter behind a desk in the hall, and an arrival here is a different piece of choreography from walking into a lobby off a main road. Escorts in Kensington deal with porters far more often than with receptionists.
So this page starts with front doors. How a porter is handled, what a companion needs to know before she rings a bell, which streets are which, and where the hotels sit when a hotel is what you want. Then the stations, the local names and the zones next door. Figures are on the rates page and the office will confirm yours in writing before anybody sets off.

Note 02
Porters, halls and a bell that works
A good number of W8 buildings have someone on the door in the evening. That is not a problem and it never has been. What makes it smooth is a name and a flat number given in advance, so that she can walk in and say a short, ordinary sentence rather than stand in a hall improvising. The office asks for both, and for the buzzer number if the entrance uses one, because a fifth floor bell that has not worked since the summer costs ten minutes on a doorstep.
If you would rather meet in the street and come up together, say so. It is a common request in this postcode and completely normal. Either way she arrives dressed for dinner, carries nothing that needs explaining, and looks like a guest, because she is one.
Note 03
The shape of the postcode
W8 runs from the High Street north to Notting Hill Gate and south to the edge of the museum streets. Kensington Church Street climbs the middle of it, lined with antique dealers whose windows stay lit long after the shops close and are better at night than in daylight. Behind the church, lanes like Old Court Place hide rooms that have not been redecorated in decades, which is entirely their appeal.
East of Kensington Palace the gardens take over and the district simply stops. West of Earl's Court Road it becomes Kensington in name only. The useful working area is a rectangle about twelve minutes across, and almost everything anyone books here happens inside it.
Note 04
Stations, and the one minute walk
High Street Kensington is about a minute from the middle of the district, on the Circle and District lines, which is unusually convenient for a residential postcode. Notting Hill Gate is eight minutes north and adds the Central line. Gloucester Road is nine minutes south with the Circle, District and Piccadilly lines, and is the one to use if you are heading on towards Knightsbridge or the airport.
Companions travel by taxi in the evening, and the Cromwell Road decides more about the journey than the distance does. Allow about an hour from the office confirming, more when that road is jammed. The office would rather quote a wider window and be right, and her exact time follows in the chat as she leaves.
Note 05
When a hotel is what you want
One hotel looks over the gardens at W8 4PT and a smaller one is a few doors along at W8 5DL, both of them on the park side of the high street. SW7 5BB sits just south, SW7 5LR is further into South Kensington, and W14 8NL is west, closer to the exhibition halls than to anything on this page.
As everywhere else on this board, they are named because they are landmarks. No hotel in Kensington has any agreement with us and none is told who is arriving or why. The routine is identical whether the door is a hotel room or a flat above a garden square.
Note 06
What an evening here looks like
Dinner in W8 is neighbourhood dinner: small rooms on Abingdon Road and off Kensington Church Street, serious kitchens with no theatre about them, and staff who have been there for years. Almost nothing here is designed to be seen in, which is the reason people who could eat anywhere keep coming back to it.
Afterwards there are two good walks. Church Street past the lit antique windows takes about fifteen minutes and involves stopping at most of them. Exhibition Road, ten minutes south, is empty and floodlit after ten and is one of the better streets in London at that hour. Either fits comfortably inside three hours at £700.
Note 07
The women who work W8
Danielle lives a short way south and takes two bookings a week, no more, which means her diary is short and worth asking about early. Thea is the warmest arrival on the board and will have found the candlelit room behind the church before you have finished asking where to eat. Both know which kitchens on the high street stay open past ten, which matters more often than people expect.
From nearby, Milena and Cindy know W8 well, and Sonya covers SW7 as readily as SW1X. Availability for all of them is on the who is free page, kept current rather than decorative.
Note 08
Next to Kensington
South and east through the museum streets is Chelsea, about fifteen minutes on foot. Straight along Kensington Road past the Albert Hall brings you to Knightsbridge in roughly the same time. North across the gardens and over the Bayswater Road, Paddington is a ten minute fare. Notting Hill Gate is described on this page, and Notting Hill beyond it has a page of its own.
