When the invitation says two: how the office books business event escorts in London

Some evenings are work with a tablecloth on them. A client dinner, a reception after a conference, a company table at something you did not choose to attend, an invitation that assumed you would be bringing somebody. This plan is for those, and it is the one where the briefing matters more than the booking. It is how this board books business event escorts in London: briefed first, dressed for the room, and quiet about it afterwards.

The figures are the ladder, unchanged: £250 for an hour, £500 for two, £700 for three and £900 for the four hour version that covers drinks, dinner and the part afterwards where the real conversation happens. What changes is the preparation. The office asks more questions before this plan than before any other, and the answers are worth giving properly.

Note 02

The brief

Four things make the difference. Who else will be at the table, and whether any of them know you well. What you do for a living, in the version you would say out loud to a stranger. Whether she is meeting you there or arriving with you. And what the dress code actually is, which is not always what the invitation printed.

Send those in the first message and she arrives knowing the room. Leave them out and she will handle it anyway, because everybody on this board has done it before, but the evening is smoother when she is not working it out from the seating plan.

Note 03

How she plays it

Composed, interested and slightly underdressed rather than slightly over. She asks other people about themselves, which is the single most useful thing anybody can do at a work dinner, and she does not volunteer a word about how the evening was arranged. Nobody at the table will ask, and if somebody does, she has an answer ready that is nobody's business and closes the subject.

She will not drink much. She will remember names. She will notice when you want rescuing from a conversation and get you out of it without anybody feeling handled.

Note 04

Two zones where this happens most

Canary Wharf is two different places, one before the offices empty and one after, and a nine o'clock table there is a far better evening than a seven o'clock one. Mayfair runs the other pattern: private rooms, early receptions and dinners that finish at a civilised hour, with hotels ten minutes from almost anywhere you are drinking.

The other districts and their hotels are set out on the zones page.

Note 05

Four who handle a room

Angelika wears dark tailoring and almost no jewellery and looks entirely at home in a room she has never walked into before. Milena is comfortable in company that talks about work until ten and then stops abruptly, and she neither pretends to be fascinated nor looks bored. Samanta asks how things are built, which is the question most people at a work dinner are actually waiting for. Karolina says less than anybody on the board and is the most composed person in most rooms because of it.

Others take these evenings too, and the who is free page has the full list with an honest note about who is in London this week.

Note 06

Black tie, and what that means in practice

If the invitation says black tie, say so and she will meet it properly rather than approximately. If it says business dress, which most of them now do, she will read that as the room reads it rather than as the card does. And if you are not sure what the dress code means, describe the last event you went to at the same place and she will work it out from that.

Two practical points people forget. Ask about shoes if there is standing involved, because a reception with no chairs is a different evening from a seated dinner. And tell her whether you are arriving together or meeting inside, because walking into a room alone and being introduced is a different job from arriving on somebody's arm, and both are fine once they have been decided.

Note 07

Discretion, in practical terms

Nothing about the arrangement is visible. She arrives on time, she leaves when you do or shortly before, and there is no moment in the evening where anybody hands anybody anything in front of other people. The fee goes to her in person when she arrives, quietly and away from the room, exactly as it does on every other plan here.

If photographs are likely at the event, say so in advance. Several of the women will simply step out of frame, which is easier to arrange before the evening than in the middle of it.

Note 08

Notice and length

A few hours is usually enough for a dinner, a day is better for a black tie evening, and anything with a fixed start time should carry that time in the first message. If the event runs long, ask before the booked hours end and the office will confirm the extension in writing at the ladder figure for the full length.

If the night carries on somewhere else afterwards, out late across town is the plan written for that part, and the rates page explains how a booking that grows is handled.

Last strip

Say a name and an hour

Write in with a length, a time and the zone you are staying in, and a name from the board comes back with a window attached. That is the whole of the arrangement.
